16.09.14 electrical selections appointment today.

We had a chat to our electrician before going in for our appointment so we knew what he was happy to complete after handover.

McDonald Jones gives you one free batten per room, which sounds less then what we actually ended up with as we were actually given three in the hallway! 

We ended up converting nearly all the supplied battens to pre-wiring as we've decided to get our electrican to install the downlights after handover. McDonald Jones doesn't charge anything extra to change them to pre-wiring which saves us time removing and patching up all the batten holes. Now our electrican can just daisy off the pre-wiring to put in our downlights and pendents.

We had to think about at what height we will be installing our TV's and whether you want cat5 or cat6 cable points running to all our TV's and study.

We decided to get all our TV cabling done through McDonald Jones and all the internal wall power points. Our electrican said it's no trouble for him to add all the external wall power points and exterior lighting in after handover which should save us some money.

All up our electical add ons were just under $1,500.

Progress payment no. 1 invoice received so time to go see the bank!

Electricals appointment scheduled for Tuesday 16.09.14 so booking in some time with our electrician before hand to work out what we'll do after handover.
